Privacy Policy — Christian Cookbook Companion

This Privacy Policy describes how Christian Cookbook Companion ("the App," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo to create and manage your account.
- Voice audio. When you use the "Martha" voice feature, your microphone audio is streamed to Google's AI services (Firebase AI Logic / Vertex AI) to generate real-time responses. Audio is processed to provide the feature and is not sold or used for advertising by us.
- Chat messages. Text conversations with Martha are processed by Google's AI services to generate responses. Your chat history is stored locally on your device.
- App preferences and usage data. Settings (such as theme and reminders), recipe favorites, custom recipes, and voice-minute usage are stored locally on your device. We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage statistics (such as screens viewed and feature usage) to improve the App.
- Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never see or store your payment details.
- Advertising identifiers. If you use the free version, Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID and related signals to serve ads.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the App's features, including AI voice and chat with Martha, recipes, meal planning, and reminders.
- To manage your subscription and unlock Pro features.
- To display advertising in the free version of the App.
- To understand aggregate usage and improve the App.
- To protect the App against abuse (we use Firebase App Check and Google Play Integrity).

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers listed above, solely to operate the App's features, or when required by law.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Chat history, preferences, and locally stored data can be removed at any time by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App. Account data associated with Google sign-in can be deleted by contacting us at the email below. Voice audio is processed in real time and is not retained by us.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Permissions
- Microphone — used only for the Martha voice feature, only while a voice session is active.
- Notifications — used for meal reminders, calendar events, and voice-minute updates. Optional and controllable in system settings.
8. Security
We use industry-standard protections, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and Google Play Integrity verification, to keep your data safe.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page.
